LG is set to unveil its latest lineup of Gram laptops at CES 2025, marking a decade of their popular thin-and-light series. The new models, focused on enhanced performance and integrated AI capabilities, include the Gram Pro, Gram Pro 2-in-1, and the entry-level Gram Book. The spotlight is on AI, with most models offering both on-device and cloud-based features.
Leading the charge are two versions of the Gram Pro. One boasts an Intel Core H-series (Arrow Lake) processor for powerful performance, including gaming, paired with RTX 4050 graphics. The other features an Intel Core Ultra V-series (Lunar Lake) chip, making it a Microsoft Copilot+ PC with AI functionalities like Recall, Live Captions, and Cocreator. This model uses integrated Intel graphics. The Lunar Lake model is lighter at 2.73 pounds, compared to 3.26 pounds for the Arrow Lake version. Both offer up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage and feature a high-refresh-rate 2560 x 1600 LCD screen.
LG’s proprietary AI features include a scaled-down chatbot based on its EXAONE model for on-device tasks and “Time Travel,” similar to Microsoft’s Recall. Cloud-based AI tasks, like Gram Chat Cloud powered by GPT-4o, offer a more robust chatbot experience integrated with calendar and email.
The Gram Pro 2-in-1, a CES 2025 Innovation Award honoree, offers a 16-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate or an optional LCD with a 144Hz refresh rate. It ships with a rechargeable stylus and can convert into tablet mode.
The Gram Book, designed to expand LG’s US presence, is the entry-level offering with a 15.6-inch FHD LCD screen at 60Hz, an Intel Core i5 CPU with integrated Intel graphics, and a maximum of 16GB of RAM. It’s the heaviest at 3.75 pounds and least powerful of the new lineup.
Pricing and release dates for the new LG Gram laptops are yet to be announced. The focus on AI and improved performance positions LG’s latest offerings as strong contenders in the ultrabook space.
