Lenovo is pushing the limits of portable gaming with the reveal of its upcoming Legion 9i (10th Gen), a colossal 18-inch gaming laptop set to debut in China soon and land in North America this fall. Designed for power users and professionals alike, this desktop replacement packs some of the most extreme specs ever seen in a gaming laptop.
Headlining the feature list is an optional 4K 2D/3D switchable display capable of 240Hz refresh rates in 2D mode (3840 x 2400), and 3D visuals at 1920 x 1200 without the need for glasses. The tech relies on eye-tracking and lenticular lenses, giving artists and gamers immersive 3D content without extra peripherals. For competitive gamers, a lower-resolution 2D mode offers a blistering 440Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, the Legion 9i is no less outrageous. It can be configured with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and Nvidia’s next-gen RTX 5090 GPU. Memory and storage are just as staggering — up to 192GB of RAM and 8TB of SSD space, all user-upgradable thanks to four RAM and SSD slots.
While pricing remains a mystery, Lenovo appears to be targeting a premium segment that includes game developers, 3D professionals, and affluent gamers. The laptop supports over 30 3D-compatible games at launch, including heavy-hitters like Cyberpunk 2077, Forza Horizon 5, and God of War Ragnarök.
Connectivity is equally robust, with dual Thunderbolt 5 ports, multiple USB-A and USB-C options, HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, and even a full-size SD card reader. Wireless features include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
One of the standout physical features is its lid, constructed from eight layers of carbon fiber. Lenovo claims this not only makes it more durable than aluminum but also gives each laptop a unique pattern — making every Legion 9i visually distinct.
While full pricing and availability details are still under wraps, Lenovo’s latest flagship is already shaping up to be one of the most advanced — and eye-catching — gaming laptops on the horizon.
