Tuxedo InfinityBook Max 15 Launches With Linux Power

German Linux PC maker Tuxedo Computers has launched its latest performance laptop, the InfinityBook Max 15, combining portability, raw desktop-grade power, and full Linux optimization.

Wayland Takes the Lead

The InfinityBook Max 15 is the third Tuxedo model to adopt Wayland as the default graphics system, joining the Polaris 15 Gen5 and Gemini 17 Gen3. Previous systems struggled with X11 compatibility on Ubuntu and Tuxedo OS, but this latest model ships with a stable Wayland setup out of the box — even on Nvidia-powered configurations.

By default, the system boots using the integrated GPU, while users can switch to the dedicated Nvidia GPU for specific applications using the simple dgpu-run command. Tuxedo also confirmed that X11 support will continue improving through upcoming Ubuntu and X11 updates.

Performance That Rivals Desktops

Weighing under 2 kg and built with a durable aluminum chassis, the InfinityBook Max 15 is both thin and lightweight. Under the hood, it packs AMD Ryzen AI 7 and AI 9 processors, featuring up to 12 cores and integrated NPUs for on-device AI acceleration.

For graphics, buyers can choose between the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 or RTX 5070, both configurable through the Tuxedo Control Center, which lets users fine-tune power consumption, fan speeds, and thermal performance.

Premium Display and Expandable Hardware

The laptop sports a 15.3-inch 16:10 display with a 2560×1600 resolution, 300Hz refresh rate, and 500 nits brightness — ideal for creators and gamers alike. A physical webcam shutter adds privacy, while rear-facing ports help keep desk setups neat.

Inside, there’s space for up to 128GB of DDR5 RAM and 8TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage, spread across two slots each. Connectivity options are plentiful, including two USB-C (USB4) ports, two HDMI 2.1, Mini DisplayPort, LAN, USB-A, and a full-size card reader. Impressively, the system can power up to five external monitors simultaneously.

Built for Linux, Ready for Work

The InfinityBook Max 15 comes preinstalled with Tuxedo OS or Ubuntu 24.04, offering complete Linux driver support and an optional Windows dual-boot setup. Pricing starts at around €1,689, and it’s available now directly from Tuxedo Computers.

For Linux enthusiasts and professionals seeking uncompromising performance in a portable form, the InfinityBook Max 15 might just be the perfect fit.
