The latest M2 Gen 6 model features Intel Ultra 9 and Nvidia Blackwell 5070 Ti for elite Linux performance.
Kubuntu Focus has officially released the sixth-generation M2 laptop, marking a significant leap in high-performance Linux computing. Designed for developers, creators, and machine learning professionals, the M2 Gen 6 is packed with cutting-edge hardware and performance-focused upgrades.
At the heart of this latest model is the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, boasting 24 cores that deliver up to 15% more performance and up to 40% better efficiency than its predecessor. This ensures quieter operation and cooler temperatures under heavy workloads.
On the graphics front, Kubuntu Focus introduces the Nvidia GeForce Blackwell 5070 Ti, offering a 30–44% boost in benchmark scores and 50% more VRAM compared to the previous generation. With 12 GB of GDDR7 memory, the GPU supports fourth-generation ray tracing and fifth-gen tensor cores—ideal for AI research and creative applications.
Display enhancements include a 16.0-inch WQXGA LCD panel with a 2560×1600 resolution, 525 nits of brightness, G-Sync support, and a 16:10 aspect ratio, giving users more vertical space for productivity.
Storage performance has also nearly doubled, thanks to PCIe 5.0 support delivering up to 14,800 MB/s read speeds. The laptop includes two additional PCIe 4.0 NVMe slots, supporting up to 12 TB of total storage.
Despite these upgrades, the chassis is sleeker and lighter—now just 4.96 lbs and 0.78 inches thick. Connectivity includes Thunderbolt-compatible USB-C ports, HDMI 2.1b, 2.5Gb Ethernet, microSD slot, and a Kensington lock for added security.
The base model ships with 32 GB of 5600 MHz dual-channel RAM and a 1 TB Samsung 990 Pro NVMe SSD. Customization options allow up to 96 GB RAM and 12 TB SSD storage, with premium components. Customers also benefit from optional full-disk encryption, a pre-configured YubiKey for hardware security, and free shipping in the US and Canada.
For professionals who want top-tier Linux performance right out of the box, the new M2 Gen 6 delivers a refined and powerful computing experience backed by Kubuntu Focus’s trusted support ecosystem.
