Samsung Starts OLED Panel Production for iPad Pro

Apple is moving full steam ahead with its next-generation iPad Pro lineup, expected to launch in October 2025. One of the biggest upgrades this year? Stunning new OLED displays. And now, Samsung Display has officially begun mass production of the OLED panels destined for these premium tablets.

According to a report from South Korea’s ZDNet (via Digitimes), Apple has once again partnered with both Samsung Display and LG Display to supply the OLED panels for the upcoming iPad Pro models. Unlike last year’s arrangement—where Samsung supplied the 11-inch variant and LG handled the 13-inch version—both manufacturers will now produce panels for both sizes. This strategy aims to boost Apple’s supply chain resilience and streamline production timelines.

The new iPad Pro models are also expected to feature Apple’s next-generation M5 chip, offering enhanced speed, efficiency, and performance. Another notable change is a redesigned Apple logo on the back, realigned for landscape orientation—likely in anticipation of iPadOS 26, which introduces macOS-inspired features optimized for horizontal usage.

Looking ahead, reports indicate that Apple is planning to adopt OLED displays across more iPad models, including the iPad Mini in 2026 and the iPad Air by 2027. This ongoing shift to OLED technology could mean significant revenue growth for display suppliers like Samsung in the coming years.

Stay tuned for more updates as Apple prepares to unveil its most advanced iPad Pro yet later this year.
