Dell Unveils New Premium Laptops with RTX GPUs

Dell is officially retiring its XPS branding and introducing a new era of high-performance laptops with the launch of its Premium 14 and Premium 16 models. These next-generation devices mark a bold shift in Dell’s naming strategy and aim to cater to power users, students, and content creators.

Earlier this year, Dell announced a controversial decision to drop its iconic XPS and Inspiron brands in favor of a new simplified naming convention. Following the unveiling of the Dell Pro Max Plus last month, the company has now introduced its Dell Premium series — featuring the 14 Premium and 16 Premium laptops — as the successors to the beloved XPS 14 and 16.

Cutting-Edge Performance and AI Integration

The new Premium laptops are powered by Intel Core Ultra 2 processors, delivering enhanced performance for multitasking, creative workflows, and everyday productivity. Dell has also embraced the AI trend, equipping both models with multiple onboard AI engines to improve responsiveness and performance across tasks.

The 14 Premium includes an NVIDIA RTX 4050 GPU, while the 16 Premium steps up with an RTX 5060. Future variants of the 16 Premium will feature a wider GPU range, including Intel Arc 140T, RTX 5050, and RTX 5070, giving users more choices based on their performance needs and budgets.

Display and Design Enhancements

Both laptops feature Dell’s signature InfinityEdge displays, with 14.5-inch and 16.3-inch screen sizes, respectively. Display options go up to 4K resolution at 120Hz, with support for OLED and touchscreen configurations. These specs are designed to appeal to creators and professionals looking for vivid visuals and smoother performance.

The Premium line retains the sleek and minimalist aesthetic Dell is known for, now available in Graphite and Platinum finishes.

Windows 11 and Future-Readiness

Dell emphasizes that the new Premium laptops are “future-ready,” shipping with Windows 11 Home as support for Windows 10 ends on October 14, 2025. The company positions these devices as ideal for students, entrepreneurs, and digital creators seeking top-tier hardware that’s ready for tomorrow’s software landscape.

  • Dell 16 Premium with RTX 5060 is priced at $2,699
