Deutsche Telekom has rolled out its first AI-integrated consumer devices — the T Phone 3 and T Tablet 2 — in ten European markets, bringing advanced AI capabilities to the mid-range segment.
The devices feature the Perplexity Assistant, built directly into the operating system for natural language interaction via voice or text. Users can access the AI with a dedicated button or power-key shortcut to handle tasks like summarizing texts, drafting emails, translating languages, planning itineraries, booking services, or making calls.
This launch follows Deutsche Telekom’s earlier AI-driven “app-free” smartphone concept, shown at Mobile World Congress, developed with Qualcomm and Brain.ai. The T Phone 3 and T Tablet 2 mark the company’s first large-scale commercial rollout of that vision.

Hardware & Sustainability
The T Tablet 2 uses TCL NXTPAPER display technology with three viewing modes, while the T Phone 3 carries DT’s #GreenMagenta label and a high Eco Rating score. Both devices have upgraded chipsets, faster charging, and use recycled materials in their construction.
Industry forecasts suggest AI-enabled smartphones will dominate the market by 2028, with over 900 million shipments annually. By offering AI at an affordable price point, Deutsche Telekom is aiming to capture early adopters without pushing them toward expensive flagship models.
The T Phone 3 and T Tablet 2 are available now in Germany, Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, and Slovakia.
