Puducherry, August 14, 2025 – Acer, the Taiwanese technology giant, has officially inaugurated a new laptop and IT hardware manufacturing facility in Puducherry through a strategic partnership with Plumage Solutions. The plant will produce laptops, computer monitors, All-in-One (AIO) desktops, servers, workstations, and power adapters, aiming to strengthen Acer’s local production capabilities.
The move is part of Acer’s broader localization strategy to reduce dependency on imports and cater to the rapidly growing demand in both urban and emerging Indian markets. According to Acer, the Puducherry unit will improve supply chain efficiency, enable faster product delivery, and offer more competitive pricing for customers.

The Plumage Group announced plans to invest ₹50 crore over the next three to four years to expand production capabilities and diversify the product portfolio in India.
Harish Kohli, President and Managing Director of Acer India, described the collaboration as a key milestone for the company. “Working with Plumage allows us to bring world-class manufacturing standards, advanced technology, and greater supply chain flexibility to the Indian market,” he said.
