LONDON, UK — July 30, 2025
Acer has officially launched its most sustainable laptop yet, the Aspire Vero 16, in the UK market. Crafted with over 70% post-consumer recycled plastic and incorporating a unique oyster shell-based material in its chassis, the device underscores Acer’s growing commitment to environmentally conscious computing.
First introduced at CES 2025, the Aspire Vero 16 represents a pioneering approach to sustainable design, blending high-end performance with eco-friendly innovation. According to Acer, the device’s production reduces carbon dioxide emissions by more than 30% compared to traditional laptops.
The UK rollout is being spearheaded by environmentalist and broadcaster Ben Fogle, who is partnering with Acer to promote the brand’s green technology initiatives.
♻️ Built for the Planet – and Performance
The Aspire Vero 16 is not just about looks or sustainability. Its components include up to Intel Core Ultra 7 processors with built-in AI acceleration, 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 2TB of SSD storage. The 16-inch display supports 100% sRGB color accuracy, and connectivity is bolstered by Wi-Fi 7 and dual USB-C ports.
Designed with future upgrades and recyclability in mind, the laptop is also packaged entirely in 100% recyclable materials and features an ocean-bound plastic touchpad. These elements align with growing enterprise demand for tech that considers the full lifecycle of hardware.
🌱 A New Standard in Sustainable Tech
Running on Windows 11 Home, the Aspire Vero 16 also integrates AI-enhanced tools like Microsoft Copilot, Acer PurifiedVoice, and PurifiedView 2.0, aiming to elevate productivity and user experience.
The device is now available for purchase in the UK, signaling a bold step forward in sustainable consumer electronics.
“Our goal with the Aspire Vero 16 is to prove that performance and sustainability can co-exist without compromise,” Acer stated.
