Key Features and Performance

At its core, the GC-R8 integrates 12th Gen Intel Core processors, UHD Graphics, and an 8-inch HD DynaVue® sunlight-readable display. Its modular design allows up to 36 customizable I/O channels, supporting joysticks, D-pads, toggle switches, thumb wheels, and buttons for precise control.

The station weighs less than 1.2 kg, making it lightweight and portable without compromising rugged strength. Durabook’s Coolfinity™ fanless technology ensures silent operation, while the ergonomic build is designed for operators working in mission-critical scenarios.

Versatile Applications Across Industries

The GC-R8 is adaptable for multiple industries, including:

  • Defense & Security: Real-time reconnaissance, surveillance, and tactical control.
  • Industrial & Utilities: Infrastructure inspection, logistics, and system monitoring.
  • Construction & Agriculture: Geomapping, automation, and precision farming.
  • Emergency Response: Search and rescue operations requiring rapid deployment.

This broad versatility ensures that the GC-R8 meets the evolving needs of sectors relying on UAVs for both safety and efficiency.

Connectivity and Security

The GC-R8 provides unified communications with multiple datalink options, including Wi-Fi 5, 4G-LTE, 5G, and LEO satellite support. Its wideband antenna design covers frequencies from 600 MHz to 7125 GHz, ensuring seamless integration with third-party RF modules. The system is also equipped with military-grade security features to safeguard sensitive missions.

Fred Kao, CEO of Twinhead (Durabook’s parent company), emphasized the importance of the launch:

“The GC-R8 highlights our commitment to delivering rugged solutions that keep professionals connected, productive, and in control—even in the toughest environments.”

With the GC-R8, Durabook positions itself as a trusted technology partner for industries where reliability and adaptability are mission-critical.
